DIY children’s party bags

It’s almost time to celebrate our little Lily’s 2nd birthday…& poised somewhere between the desire to keep things as simple as possible, and wanting to create a homespun feel to the event I thought I might share our simple party bag DIY:

You will need:

Wallpaper, scissors, sellotape/washitape, ribbon, hole punch.

childrens party bags
old wallpaper samples ~ cut into 30cm lengths

fold each side in towards the centre

create a slight overlap to stick together

use tape to stick seam together ~ dont worry about wonky edges

roll up one end to create the bag

…again use tape to seal bottom of bag

we used pinking sheers to cut the top of the bag

cut ribbon to 30cm lengths

use hole punch to create handle holes

tie ribbon to create handles
These took about 10 minutes to make & we filled them with: giant pavement chalks, mini bottles of bubbles, stickers & a foil party Tooter {inexpensive bits to entertain 8 toddlers!} approx cost: £1.50 per bag.

We’re really pleased with how these turned out, and along with home made cake{s}, taking the party outdoors to a local tearoom garden {avoiding the stress of holding the party at home} I’m hoping for a sweet, fun, simple gathering for our little poppet & friends…

…I’ll let you know how we get on!
