How to make a Christmas tree flower garland ~ as seen on Kirstie’s home made Christmas

It’s the most wonderful time of the year!

Christmas began early for me this year…appearing on Kirstie Allsop’s channel 4 show ~ Kirstie’s home made Christmas*.

…& I’m here to share the flower garlands that I made for the show.

Travelling down to Devon for filming meant packing all my floral decorations into a suitcase, which technically a stretch, gave me this great idea to make the garland in six-inch sections, thereby making it super easy to pack away {& store year after year}.

To make the garland in sections, you’ll need:

vintage beads
old beads / necklaces

fridge dried flowers
fridge-dried flowers ~ tap this image for link

christmas garland
small sections of paper covered wire ~ we picked this up in the garden section at waitrose, but its also available online

1. Snip your necklaces apart & gather beads into a bowl.

2. Thread randomly: the beads & flowers onto garden wire.

 3. Attach each section onto garland of your choice ~ I used fine copper thread fairy lights

And there you have it…floral garlands! Lovely to attach to your Christmas tree…

Or perhaps, like me, you’ll make a garland for your wall/window/mantle…

*oh, and in case you missed the show ~ you can watch it again on More4 catch up.

Enjoy!
