Joining in with Katy & Charlotte’s ‘styling the seasons’ I thought I might share one of my mantle stylings! And this month I’ve included some quite random bits…all of which tell a story.
As much as I’ve loved bottles & vases full of fridge dried flowers over winter, it’s been lovely to gather big bunches of fresh tulips indoors again…there’s something about this dried peony head that I just love, so she’ll be staying put a while longer..the others I’m carefully packing away for later in the year. You can see how I made them here).
We’re burning down the last of our beeswax candles…although with this one matching my latest colour crush, I may not be able to resist buying more!
A sweet & oh so shiny shell, found recently with Lily on Brighton beach…which if you know that stretch of coast is mainly pebbles, so to find such a pretty shell (& with a heart hole too!) we had to keep it!
These little gold boxes were gifts for Lily from my recent travels to Brooklyn…they hold teeny tiny glass animals, which she adores…& I still can’t believe we haven’t lost any of them yet?!
And finally the oil painting hanging above …it was our Christmas present to each other. It’s by Ruth Beloe & is magical; the way she captures light…it’s so calming in our otherwise busy living room!
Oh, and that gorgeous card is from Mother’s Day …a delightful piece of snail mail from my dear friend Lucy (aka @seaside Lucy on Instagram) We co-host a weekly photo challenge; #mymondaymoodboard & much like this #stylingtheseasons challenge, it aims to inspire & encourage creativity!
So there we have it! A spring mantle that can’t wait to have speckled eggs added to it next week!
